Window live writer program

  Will installing the Microsoft Windows live writer program make any automatic changes or have any adverse effects on an existing Blog? I am not familiar with the ‘Writer’ program and hesitant to install it for my existing Blog at http://texarty.wordpress.com. Any comments from members familiar with the program will be appreciated.
