windows live error when opening wordpress

hey guys! i am having a little bit of trouble. when i enter in windows live writer, an click open and i click on my blog i get: INVALID SERVER RESPONSE! The response to the wp.getPages method received from the blog server was invalid: Invalid response document returned from XmlRpc server
can anyone tell me what this could be? i tried searching the internet for solutions but without luck! please help! thanks!

Something caused the XML returned to WLW to be incorrectly formatted. Anything change recently? New plugins or theme?

I have the exact same problem since a few days ago. I did recently upgrade to Windows 7 however this feature was still working post the upgrade for a few days. I haven’t changed any themes or added any plugins. As far as I know I’ve just been editing pages in the exact same way that I did before. Is it possible to see the XML returned from the server to see if there are any formatting issues?
