Windows Live Writer does not longer work

    Window Live Writer stopped working two weeks ago, and now I can’t even add a new wordpress blog account. I get the following error when posting or adding a new account:

    WindowsLiveWriter,1.9160,Fail,00054,11-Sep-2012 11:13:23.042,”WindowsLive.Writer.Extensibility.BlogClient.BlogClientConnectionErrorException: Network Connection Error – Error attempting to connect to blog at:

    https://upto8000.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php

    The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

    I have removed cookies and IE cache
    I have tried in different computers, one of them recently installed.

    Also from IE9 I noticed I can’t create a new blog since the following does not load anymore http://wordpress.com/signup/?ref=newdash-myblogs-bottom.
    It does load without issues using Google Chrome in the same computer

    Looks like something has changed recently and WLW does not work anymore :(
