Windows Live Writer Setup Errors

  I have been trying to setup my windows live writer to connect to my wordpress account and I cannot get past the the ‘Remote posting web address for your blog’. I have tried MANY different combinations and nothing works. I continually get the error that says

  ‘ Can’t connect to your blog service:
  Network Connection Error – Error attempting to connect to blog at:
  http://coreycato5205.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php
  Unable to connect to remote server
  Please try fixing the problem and then try again. ‘

  WP.com: Yes
  Correct account: Yes

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there, try using onlycoreycato5205.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php or with https:// since all WordPress.com sites are connected over secure server. If that doesn’t work, I’m out of ideas.

  FWIW Windows Live Writer hasn’t been updated in a very long time and I don’t think that WordPress recommends it as an offline editor any longer. There is a list of other options at https://wordpress.com/support/offline-editing/
