Windows Live Writer won’t upload images

    For months, I have had no problem uploading from Windows Live Writer post with photos and tables to my various WordPress blogs. Now a dialog box (in Windows Live) that says WordPress doesn’t support photos and I must get a FTP site. Also, if I go to an old post in Windows Live, I have no problem uploading a post again with a photo included. I’ve tried to find support info on this to no avail so far.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Please note that the following items do *NOT* come over in the import process:

    Photos that were in albums but not within posts
    Photos that weren’t used in posts are not part of the import process because they aren’t actually part of the Windows Live Spaces blog. They are part of the Photos or Skydrive service. The photo albums from Skydrive are always accessible and aren’t going anywhere. Anyone can find them at http://photos.live.com/.

    Pending/draft posts
    Right now, the draft posts are trapped in limbo and WordPress.com Staff are communicating with Live Spaces about them.

    @timethief: I thought he was referring to Windows Live Writer, not Spaces.

    @dalegarden: dalegarden.wordpress.com is deleted, so would you please provide us with the URL of your blog so we can double-check we are giving you the correct advice?

    I read that but I do believe he may be a windows live spaces transferee. If I’m wrong he’ll say so – hopefully. :)

    First, thanks for responses.

    I am a Windows Live Writer user — don’t understand or know “Spaces”. I don’t understand your answers. I will try again to communicate my problem. When I use Windows Live Writer now to upload a post to, for example, http://evelyngarden.wordpress.com/, I get a dialog box in WLW that says pictures cannot be published because “the blog does not support picture publishing” — whether I am attempting to publish a “picture” or not, I get the same dialog box. This did not happen in previous months when using WLW and WordPress obviously supports “picture publishing”.

    Should I try to remove the WLW software and re-download and re-install? Or what?

    I am having the exact same problem as he is, did you find a solution? i was posting regularly before but yesterday all of a sudden i got that same message.

    problem solved: For some reason I found a check on the “include a link to larger picture”, once I unchecked it it started working, whether using “polaroid” plug- in or the regular photo inserter, just remove anything that indicates “linking” the photo.
