Wish to delete a registered domain
-
I tried redirecting my wordpress blog (earlbowservideos.wordpress.com) to my own subdomain (videoblog.earlbowser.com). Not sure what went wrong, but it looks like I mucked things up; in an attempt to fix things, not knowing if I had the right settings on my host server, I deleted the dns hosting on my host server and recreated it. Not sure things can be fixed at this point so I’m thinking I need to delete the domain, request the $12 refunded and start over.
Posting here since Support team doesn’t seem to be back to work yet and I noticed another had the same problem recently :)
“The Happiness Team is heading to St. Louis for just over a week of brainstorming, code-cracking, and happiness engineering. We’ll be back on the 16th August…lternatively, head to the WordPress.com Forums if you’re in a pickle…”
Thanks!

Hi. What are you trying to do?
– Keep your WordPress.com blog, but replace the address ending in wordpress.com with your own subdomain:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/
or
– Redirect anyone typing your wordpress.com to your own subdomain (which is hosted elsewhere): -
Don’t delete the domain name – a deleted WordPress.COM name can’t be reused or recycled – there is nothing you have done that deleting a domain name will fix.

Thanks for your replies.
airodyssey, I’m not actually sure, to tell you the truth. What I’m attempting to do is “fix” an “issue” that websitegrader notes as my site not having a blog. Currently I have 3 blogs being displayed in iframes. I’m not interested in finding something other than WordPress to use for my blogs, and I don’t mind having wordpress in my urls, but I thought that a redirect or a subdomain remapping might solve the “issue”.
The only thing I’m interested with is having websitegrader recognize my site as having a blog, and hopefully appear to be hosted from my server. I’me interested in the one that does this, but if neither remapping or redirect will do this, then I’ll leave as is.

@earlbowser: I looked at your account and earlbowser.com is registered through Net Dream Network. It looks like you have the right upgrade – domain mapping for mapping a subdomain, but some settings appear to be off, that’s why it’s not working.
You mention that you have changed things around – could I ask you please to re-do steps 1 and 3 here and let me know if that makes the subdomain work?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/We don’t work directly with websitegrader.com, so you might want to check with them directly about the criteria they use. Regardless of the domain mapping, your blog earlbowservideos.wordpress.com will continue to be hosted on wordpress.com (rather than your own server).
We also have a 30-day refund policy for the domain mapping upgrade when you map a subdomain – you can request a refund by contacting us at this page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
