Wish to remove all default widgets from the bottom of ‘Day Dream’ theme.

Pretty much what the title indicates. I’d really like to remove all of the default widgets, it comes with ‘categories’ ‘archives’ and ‘meta’.

I have added things and then removed them as a means of trying to get rid of them. I just want a really clean blog. No clutter.

If someone could help I’d be very appreciative.

    :)

Is this the blog you are talking about, http://randomvandal.wordpress.com/ ?

The links with images you have at the bottom of the blog, are those in a text widget?

you just go to appearance..and then widgets..and drag the widgets away from the sidebar

@kirstypang: No. If you drag all widgets away, you get the default sidebar items of the theme, not an empty sidebar or bottombar. For an empty sidebar you activate a blank Text or RSS widget.

@thesacredpath – No it isn’t the randomvandal blog I’m referring to but another one I’m in the process of setting up. And yes they are done using a text widget.

Panaghiotisdam – Yeah you’re right. Is it just a bug with the theme then or is there a way to work around it?

Thanks for all the replies. I hope someone has got the answer.

    Cheers!

@sanity, It is the way all themes work here. All themes will display a theme-generated sample set of widgets until you add at least one widget to the sidebar at appearance > widgets.

To make all widgets disappear, do as panos suggests and add either an empty text or RSS widget to the sidebar and the sample set will disappear.
