Within a post- Adding a poster’s name linked to their email

How do I modify a post so that it actually SHOWS the poster’s username at the top of the post? eg. Posted by ‘username’ on April 30th at 2:30.

I have had no problems adding a contributor in and putting up his post, but it doesn’t show his name nor mine (for the posts under me) on the actual blog. Thanks.

if i’m not wrong this is theme dependent. some themes do not display who posted the post and some do. either you manually add this at the beginning or end of your post, or you change themes.

I prefer to have the author of a post tag it with his/her name. That way people searching the blog can click on the tag in the sidebar “William Shakespeare” and get all of Bill’s posts at once.

It is theme dependent. The two I have found that have the poster’s name and a link under it are Andreas04 and Tarski -the link, though is not to their email (this would be spam heaven) but to a page with only their posts on it.
Chosing between them is difficult – I am on Tarski at the moment but the way the comment box works there is odd, so I am likely to make the switch to Andreas04 soon.

Mistylook I believe has author pages as well. At least the regular wordpress version of the theme does.
