  I have a domain with wix, I am really displeased with their service and I would like to transfer over to wordpress. I have tried mapping my site but wix will not allow me to change my DNS. I also can not remove my site address from their register until February. Is there ANY other way I can transfer my wix site to wordpress??

  Hey there!

  While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. We usually recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar.

  You can use your existing domain with your WordPress.com site by mapping the domain, as explained here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  However, if Wix won’t let you adjust your DNS, then I recommend you transfer the domain to another server. This is a list of name servers for popular hosts:
  DreamHost
  Bluehost
  Rackspace
  Yahoo
