  Hey, I’m looking to move over from Wix to WordPress. Just because the websites seem a lot more responsive and smoother. Is there any way that I can build a site and get it finished and then pay for hosting once it’s finished?

  You’ve created the free site https://benwarddesign.wordpress.com/ You can work on that for as long as you wish and upgrade to a paid plan to get a custom domain (or map/transfer one you already own) when you’re ready.
