wix to wordpress help?

I started out using Wix website builder for my restaurant website. I signed up for their premium package and registered my domain “www.pattyseggnestrestaurant.net” with Network Solutions. Now I want to use WordPress as a “builder” (not sure what the correct term is) for my new website. I went through all the steps by creating a blog, selecting a theme, building pages, and bought the domain mapping. I went to Network Solutions and followed WordPress’ support guide for changing the DNS.

Now, I come to my problem. When I type in “pattyseggnestrestaurant.net” I find my WordPress, which is great. But when I type in “www.pattyseggnestrestaurant.net” the old Wix site still pops up. What am I doing wrong? I am very confused, please help!

Sounds to me like you just need to wait it out. This can take up to 72 hours to resolve so just wait and see what happens.

I hope you’re right, because now my poor site is experiencing a “redirect loop” error. I can’t even look at the site using “pattyseggnestrestaurant.net.” I searched on the help forum here, but I am extremely confused about how to resolve the problem. Like I said, I am a complete novice when it comes to website building…

As raincoaster said, you need to wait. With the www, your address directs me to your WP.com site already. This is perfectly normal.

Oh, okay. I just tried it on my computer and cell phone and it works. I was just panicking. Thank you so much, I’m pretty new to this sort of thing.
