Wix to WordPress with Transfer Code?

  I need to send a transfer code from Wix to WP to transfer my domain name. I tried to map my domain name but Wix does not rewrite the name servers and WP does not allow for an IP address to be switched. Where do I send the transfer code to switch my domain name?

  Hi there,

  Please note that WordPress.com can’t accept incoming domain transfers. To use your domain registered with Wix with a WordPress.com site, you will need to change your domain’s settings to point it here at WordPress.com. Since they don’t allow changing the nameservers you have two options:

  1) One option is to transfer your domain from Wix to another domain registrar that allows you to change the domain’s name servers. Then, you can make that change to map your domain here.

  2) If you want to keep your domain registered at Wix, and they won’t let you change your domain’s name servers, another option is to point your domain to WordPress.com using A records. However, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.

  If you want to go ahead and map your domain using A records, please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:

  • 192.0.81.250
  • 66.155.11.238
  • 76.74.254.123
  • 192.0.80.250
  • 76.74.254.120
  • 66.155.9.238
