Wondering how to upgrade without losing past posts
-
I have had a free account for several years, but I noticed today that I am no longer able to do things like center text, change text color, or really much of anything. I guess I need to upgrade. Can I do so without losing old posts? Can I do so without changing my domain name? I have been trying to find answers on-line but it has been frustrating. Let me know what I need to do! Thanks.

Hello there,
Can I do so without losing old posts?
It is possible since the upgrade does not affect your existing posts.
Can I do so without changing my domain name?
For paid plans, you get a custom domain of your choice, which can be used as the address of your site. If you’re not ready to add a custom domain, you can add one later and continue with the existing one.
Additionally, when you add a custom domain also, WordPress.com automatically redirects your old URL to the new one so nothing to worry about.
Hope this clarifies things. !

Before paying for a plan, you might want to investigate what theme you are currently using and if it’s been retired. Retired themes cause all sorts of problems (as I found out) and sometimes changing to a new theme can solve some of the issues.

Could you tell us some more details about this? We encourage you to upgrade your plan to have access to more features but not to fix underlying issues.
If something is not working correctly, we’d love to see what’s going on and fix it before you decide to purchase a plan.
