Wondering why my blog isn't showing up in tag searches?

My blog isn’t showing up in tag searches for tags that I have in my posts.

Hi there,
Can you give me a link to a post that isn’t showing up, and let me know what tags you’re not seeing it in? I took a look at your latest post at https://tamaclaganwriting.wordpress.com/2015/01/14/spying-101-1/ and I see it in the Reader, for example under the Spying 101 tag here:
https://wordpress.com/tag/spying-101/
If there’s a different post or tag that isn’t showing up, I can take a closer at that for you. :)

Hi,
My categories are showing up but not the tags. For example in my book review of Olivia Twisted I’ve tagged the book name and the author but when I search for both my review doesn’t come up. Same for my review of The Secrets of Isobel Key if I search by author or book name. I think it’s like that for all the book reviews and for all the tags.

Hi there,
The Reader only shows recent posts, so your posts that are more than a few months old won’t appear there anymore. However, when you look at your latest posts you’ll find them under both the categories and tags you used, like this:
https://wordpress.com/tag/weta-workshops/

Hi Again,
I’m still having some issues. In my current post Spying 101-#2 it isn’t showing up in a few of the tagged categories. For example, it isn’t showing up when I search for ‘spy novels’ or ‘book blogs’. My first Spying 101 #1 post does but not the second one.

Hi Tiffany,
In this case, your post isn’t appearing in the Reader because it has more than 15 tags and categories on it. You’ll need to remove some of those tags or categories so it only has 15 total. (You can read more about that and other reasons a post might not appear in the Reader, if you’d like to learn more.)

Hey again, I just posted today and it’s not showing up in my search of ‘expat’ even though it’s one of my categories and I have less than 15 total. Know any reason why that might be the case?

It can be tricky to find posts when the tag you’re searching is a high-volume one with a lot of posts in it, like the “expat” tag. However, I checked that tag at https://wordpress.com/tag/expat/ and I found your post there: https://cloudup.com/cFJdM8sAehY

(Also, as a complete side note, I’ve enjoyed reading your posts. :) I’m an expat and was an anthropologist in a previous life, too, and it’s fun to read your experiences in another part of the world!)

Thanks for helping me! Sorry I keep running you in circles when nothing’s wrong. I thought I’d gone through all the expat ones. You’ve been very patient! I’m such a luddite when it comes to this stuff.
