Wonky template

    I have no idea what happened. As I was composing my post I noticed a strange < div > html quotes that appeared, whose function was apparently to eliminate the automatic line space that appears when one wishes to start a new paragraph. I thought nothing of it, thinking I had clicked on some mysterious button in the editing bar and pressed publish. I noted that the spaces I’d made in “visual” didn’t appear. I went into edit, went to code and deleted all of the div html code. When I published my blog template went crazy.

    I use the Misty theme which has two columns and somehow, my deletion of those html codes in a *post* modified the template and now everything shows in one column with my right sidebar sitting under my posts way at the bottom. Are they linked or was it just a coincidence? And how on earth could something edited in a post affect my blog’s template, if that’s the case?

    Try Contacting (email visible only to moderators and staff) or (email visible only to moderators and staff) they are good on websites

    Your sidebar displays correctly on all your other pages, so it’s the front page, not the theme.

    Did you copy and paste from Word or a website?

    @garlandtimemoderator: please stop spamming the forums. Your advice is not helping.

    @imani: it’s that “Another Phase” post which is doing it, so what you need to do is to go to Dashboard > Manage and edit the post. In the editor I think you’ll see something which looks like […] between the blockquotes. Delete that and it should fix it. If it doesn’t, go over to code and copy everything into Notepad, then delete everything and copy it back from Notepad. That should remove the formatting and fix it.

    @imani
    Try opening the post and selecting all of the text in it (in visual mode). Then go to the extended tool bar (last icon on the right end) and click on the icon in the lower icon bar that looks like a blue handled brush about mid way (clean up messy code). Then save and view your blog again.

    Thanks for all the very quick feedback! (I did not think of looking at my other pages.) I’m not sure what I did, frankly, I was simply cleaning up the latest posts, putting in spaces and editing typos, when I pressed publish and my front page was back to normal.

    Glad that worked for you. Happy blogging.

    I didn’t do anything at all, and upon viewing my site just ow, the template was completely wonky. The right column is at the bottom of the page, and where it says the name of the template style at the bottom, it’s at the top right column side.
