wonky widgets and sketchy sidebars

I had four widgets on my website; search, upcoming events, website link, and freeform text. For some reason the only one that shows up is the search widget. Recently I have deleted all of them except the “text” widget because that information is the most important one for my goals with the site, yet it still doesn’t show up. The only way the widget shows up is if I put it in the footer, but what I really want is the sidebar option.

I have already checked my settings, and I am definitely set up for two columns, so it should work. What gives?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there – Your theme, Twenty Eleven, does not show a sidebar on static pages. It only shows a sidebar on the posts page. You might want to try a similar theme that does show a sidebar on static pages, such as Twenty Ten: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyten/

You can preview any theme from Appearance->Themes in your Dashboard.
