Won't Accept AMEX for Payment for URL

  WordPress will not accept payment by AMEX, and says “Use another card”. The card is valid, and has more than enough credit for the payment. What gives?

  WordPress.com utilizes Paypal to process payments. If you’d like further information as to why your card was not accepted, you’ll need to contact them.

  I contacted PayPal and they claim that they have no idea why a US company allowing AMEX payments would not allow an Australian user to pay with an Australian AMEX card. Is it because utilizes Paypal to process payments but because PayPal Australia doesn’t allow AMEX, I therefore can’t use it?

  Yes, that is unfortunately correct. We can only charge the cards and billing locations that PayPal covers. Unfortunately, I’m really not sure why they have chosen to block AMEX in from Australian, but that will prevent us from putting a charge on it.
