Won't accept credit card to renew domain–wants original purchaser
-
Email says, ‘Domain Mapping for taylorpwr.wordpress.com is about to expire. This upgrade replaces your site’s default address of ‘taylorpwr.wordpress.com’ with the custom domain ‘pwr.taylor.edu’.
I tried to renew our domain. I put in new credit card info and it says: ‘This subscription was originally purchased by another user. Please ask the subscription owner to renew the subscription.’ I had students who built the website and I believe another instructor at the time gave us her credit card. Now I am trying to charge to university credit card but it won’t let me. Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s not the right domain that it added at the end that I need help with. Instead, it is remapped to pwr.taylor.edu.
This is seriously frustrating! Why can’t I just call someone?

What is the domain URL?
What is the underlying .wordpress.COM blog URL?
Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.COM blog URL and purchased the upgrade for it?Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade to access the blog’s dashboard and renew the upgrade(s).
The blog’s owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them or to update credit card information, or to transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account.

Hi there,
I would be happy to assist you in renewing the domain purchase. However, the upgrade that was purchased is not associated with the account you contacted us from. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Alternately, you’ll need the current owner to either transfer the domain over to you, renew the domain themselves, or post here and give us consent to transfer the domain over to you. Then, I can look into renewing the domain subscription.
However, I just checked and it appears that the domain has been renewed successfully. Were you able to get your credit card on file?
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
