Won't Let me Change Email Address

I’m trying to change the email address associated with my account and every time I try to change it under account settings, it tells me there was a problem saving my changes. I need to change the email address because the old one associated with this account is no longer active so I won’t be able to access any WordPress emails until it is changed.

Are you using that same email address for any other WordPress.com account ?
Each WordPress.com account must have a unique email address and so the same email address may not be used for more than one account at once.If this is the case, you can try to log into the other WordPress.com account that is using this email address and change the email address to something else. This will free up the email address to be used with this current address.
You can change your email address under account settings.

I’m having the same issue. I helped a friend set up a wordpress.com site using my email address. Now that it’s set up, I can’t get it to change to her email address. I get a message saying that it is “pending” but it’s been months. In the meantime, I can’t set up the site for myself (and I’m getting her updates.) Is there any way to check on the progress of this, or some step that I’ve missed? The only thing we want to change is the email associated with the site – everything else, including the username, should be the same.

Did you try to change the email address under account settings ?
https://wordpress.com/me/accountIf yes, did your friend get any confirmation email asking to confirm the changes ? This email will come to the new email address.
