wont let me change username

  found typo in username and want to correct it but in account settings the username cannot be edited. please help

  You cannot register any username that has been previously registered as they are never deleted here to prevent impersonation https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

  1. How many other username accounts do you have?
  2. And, what are they please?
  3. Have you changed you username previously?

  Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
