Won’t let me close my account

I’m trying to delete my account. I have no sites and no purchases, yet still I’m not allowed to delete my account?

I have cleared my browser’s cache and have even tried another browser, yet I’m still not allowed to delete my account. Sorry.

Hm, ok, I do not see any reason why this won’t work for your account. Everything is as it should be and there should be no reason to contact us, so I don’t know why it isn’t going through.
But, I have contacted our accounts team and I’ll let you know as soon as we find something out.

You’re paying annually for https://akismet.com/ anti-spam services on http://www.vickiemadsen.dk/ and your current plan won’t expire until November 30, 2019.
Since Akismet.com uses WordPress.com’s account system, this is also considered to be an upgrade that would block account closure, for a pretty good reason. :)
So, in order to allow you to close your WordPress.com account, we would need to cancel your Akismet plan, which would mean that Akismet would stop blocking spam on your site.
Would you like us to proceed with that?

Thank you! I’m really confused about this. I have a website (using Kismet), but it shouldn’t be registered with this account? When I look at my profile it doesn’t say anything about my website. My website though is registered with the same email address.

Akismet.com uses WordPress.com’s account system, so when you sign up and log in there, you use your WordPress.com account.
Akismet plans, however, are managed separately on Akismet.com, but you do still use your WordPress.com account there.
Think of it like how some websites only offer logging in via your Facebook or Google account (besides Facebook or Google, of course), or perhaps more specifically how you use your Google account to log into YouTube.
So, you won’t be able to close your WordPress.com account until we also cancel the Akismet plan that’s under it, which would stop Akismet from working on your site.

Okay, thanks. This means, that when I cancel my Akismet plan for my website (which is not connected to this profile I’m trying to delete) then I can close this profile without deleting my website?

Once your Akismet plan is cancelled you should be able to close this account, yes.
That will not have any effect on your website, as the site is not hosted with us and not in any way connected to your WordPress.com account. But the Akismet plugin on your site might stop working if you cancel your plan with them.
