Won't Let Me Purchase

  The system posts $1 to my AmEx every time I try to purchase, and says ‘Transaction Declined, try another card’. Anyone know what to do to make this work?

  The system posts $1 to my AmEx every time I try to purchase, and says ‘Transaction Declined, try another card’

  This happens so we can authorise your card before a payment is taken — no money is taken although some banks show it as a transaction on your statement.

  It sounds like AmEx are blocking this authorisation process. The next step is to contact them and ask for any blocks on WordPress.com to be removed. Once they’ve done so, you should be able to make a purchase.

  Nothing I did, including speaking with AmEx customer service, would allow the charge to go through. I finally had to use my bank card.

  I can see an upgrade has been added to your account now, so it looks like you are all sorted :) If you have the problem again, please get in touch and we’ll look into it. As I mentioned, we weren’t blocking the purchase but we can double check there are no issues from our side.
