Won’t Save

Alright I have two seperate questions that rolled into one kinda.
First off – I was trying to make a link for my page that instead of directing the reader to a new URl it would take them further down the page. Im not sure exactly what that is called but I was just playing around with it. It ended up turning out – as you will see- not working well. I was trying to make the link by using < a href = ” W ” > (obviously without the spaces, which would go to the anchor < a name = ” # W ” >, instead it saved as a semi-colon and its all messed up. I was willing to keep trying and play around with it, but now it wont let me change it which brings me to my second problem = every time I try to edit my page it wont let me save. It beings up the box telling me that if I navigate away from the page i will loose all of my work etc. Im not sure if its something that I did wrong or if there is an easy fix for it.
So if ya know any information on html code and making the linking within one page, please help me out.
And more importantly – how do I edit and save now?!?!?!

I don’t have an answer for your second question but we have two moderators aboard so help will be on the way shortly.

On my blog, there is a div class in my CSS sheet called “nav” and that houses all my pages and navigation. In my footer I have a link that has this:
<a href="#nav" title="Jump to top of page">Top</a>That is how you get the links to certains areas of your blog through CSS divs. As for the other problem, you have the CSS upgrade already purchased? If not, it will try and redirect you to the page to purchase it.

So whats the verdict? Am I going to have to delete and rewrite the page? I understand now how to construct the page jumps, but i still cant edit the page.

Should be able to. When you go Dashboard -> Manage -> Pages, the Page for your blog are listed. There should be an edit link along the right hand side.
if not, then that’s a different issue that we’re going to have to get staff to resolve.

Slaps myself…..I am sorry, I really misread the page part and drmike should have it covered here. Where do you get redirected and does it give you errrors?

Im sorry I dont think you understand what I mean, I must have explained it wrong.
I have not purchased the CSS upgrade yet.
drmike – I am able to get to the editing page, I can make changes to my text, but then when I press either the “Save” or “Save and Continue Editing” buttons it brings up the notice that says “Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? The Changes you have may will be lost if you navigate away. Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.” -
Oh, the loose work error. I missed that when I read it. Sorry.
If I remember correctly, that’s a browser cache issue with TinyMCE.
– Log out.
– Clear your browser’s cache and cookie cache.
– Try again.Make sure you log out fully though.

Alright – Im not exactly sure what you mean by cache , I logged out (fully i believe) – deleted the cookies off my computer as well as deleting all of the cookies etc on my internet options. When I tried again i had the same problem. I tried making a new page, and i had the same problem. When I edit posts, it works fine, but when I edit pages it doesn’t.

IE – Tools – Internet Options – Clear Cache
Firefox – Firefox – Preferences – Cache – Clear Cache NowThe cookies will help, but the cache is what your computer has kept in memory that we need to clear out. I would try that and then see if it works for you…if not…..NEXT thing!

Could I possibly get a little more information on where to find the “Clear Cache” option? I went to my Internet Options but I couldnt locate it.

I tried that as well now, Ctrl + F5, I re-loaded the page while on the editing page and it gave me the same warning, that if i navigate away from the page it wont save. I tried pressing Ok and Cancel and neither helped…..

I will do a another quick search, but if we don’t come up with something else to try, we better just have you send in a ‘feedback’ from the admin area to the staff on Monday! We will try and find something else for you though ;)

Just a little bit more information that might help – I have a couple of blogs here with WP, and I tried editing the pages on my other blogs and it works fine, so its only a problem with the one main blog that Im using.
I tried using what it said in that thread and it isnt working.
So i guess ill just hold off doing any work and wait to send in a feedback.
Let me know if anything comes up that you think might help or something, im open to trying whatever!
