Won't stay signed-in

The site keeps asking me to sign in again.
It’s happened three times this morning – each time when I’m already at the dashboard or writing a post.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
It looks like you’re using Firefox. Is that correct? If so, can you navigate to Firefox -> Preferences -> Privacy and make sure third-party cookies are enabled?
-
Hi Jeremy
I am using Firefox but have WordPress enabled as a third-party cookie.
I am wondering if this is related to a problem I’m having with Sitemeter – it stopped counting my posts a couple of weeks ago, the widget link from my blog stopped working and the day I started having problems staying sign-in I started getting a small window appearing saying Windows Security asking me to sign in.
It happens on my PC, iPad and a tablet.
I decided to get rid of the sitemeter widget but when I went into the widgets I can’t find it – it still shows up on the sidebar of my blog below the widget for links and above the widget for Cluster Maps, but it’s not on the list of Widgets when I go to them from appearance – widgets.
Hoping you can wave a wand for me, because it’s making me nervous.
Thanks in anticipation,
Ele

Hi Jeremy,
Further to my email below, a screen shot of the window is attached.

Hi Ele,
Unfortunately, attachments won’t come through forum threads. Can you upload the screenshot to your Media Library so I can take a look?
Regarding the Site Meter stats, it looks like that’s actually an embed code within a Text Widget. The title of the text widget is called “Visitors”.
Last question, if you use another browser like Google Chrome, does the problem persist? I’m trying to determine if it’s a browser-related issue or something else!
-
Thanks Jeremy
I’ve uploaded the screenshot to the media library.
I haven’t tried logging on another browser but the window appears when I open Internet explorer too even though I’m not logged into WordPress from it.
It pops up every time I open the browser and each time I go to my blog from another site, or for example if I publish a post, or go from the Dashboard back to the homepage, it pops up again.
The visitor widget is for Cluster Maps not sitemeter.
On the blog Sitemeter appears above the widget named Visitors Cluster Maps and below the Widget for links, but it isn’t there at all when I go into Dashboard-Appearance-Widgets.
Thanks for persevering with this.
Regards
Ele

Hi Ele,
Thanks for sending over that screenshot. That definitely isn’t a WordPress.com login. So, it’s likely caused by something else on your site like the Site Meter widget you’re referring to.
I was able to locate the Site Meter widget. It’s actually in the form of a link, not a text widget. On your Links page here, you’ll see a link titled “Site Meter”:
https://homepaddock.wordpress.com/wp-admin/link-manager.php
Can you remove that link from your Links page? I believe that’s causing the issue. The URL reads like this:
s46.sitemeter.com/stats.asp?site…
Let me know if that helps!

Thank you very much, muchas gracias, merci beaucoup . . .
In whichever language you like, I’m very grateful for your help – I’ve removed the link and the window isn’t popping up anymore.
Many smiles
Ele

Hi again Jeremy
I’m getting logged out several times a day again.
I took my computer in to get checked in case there was a virus or other nasty causing problems and the technical wizard who checked it could find nothing untoward.

Hi again Jeremy,
Further to this afternoon’s email (below)
This is getting more curious.
I’ve just done a post with delayed publication on my PC and the page came up with words in a foreign language.
I opened the desktop on my iPad and it had a foreign language too.
I’ll do a screen shot and upload it.
Is it possible I’ve been hacked? Should I change my password.
Regards
Ele

Hi Ele, I just want to let you know that the issue with the foreign language was due to a glitch from our end. Sorry about that! There’s no need to worry about hacking. :)
If there’s anything more we can do to help, just let us know.

Thanks Rachel,
I’m still getting logged off several times a day, though.
I’ve got WordPress Cookies okayed so that’s not causing it.
Regards

Hi Ele,
Can you upload another screenshot of what you see when you get logged off? That will help me figure out if it’s related to the Site Meter issue Jeremey helped you with before, or if something else is going on here. Thanks!
