Woo Bookings

Hi, I am looking at starting as a designer on my own. I just wanted to ask a question about woobookings as the company I work for have their own platform so doing it all through a WordPress account is new to me. With the woobookings plug-in can I add it to a website on a business pricing plan? I know I’d have to pay the annual cost for the woobookings plug-in as extra.
    Thank you.

Also with the e-commerce plan I assume it’s woocommerce used and this is included in the plan, I’d just have to add extensions in if I wanted any?

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

That’s correct, the site would need to be on the business plan in order to run WooBookings as well as WooCommerce.

WooCommerce doesn’t come with the business plan, but it is free to use with the business plan. https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/

As you say, any additional extensions you require would also incur an extra cost.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you! So to clarify woobookings can go on the business plan as PayPal payments can be done through the business plan, I’d just need to purchase the woobookings plug-in and pay for it annually. Woocommerce doesn’t come with the business plan but I could upload it but it does come with the e-commerce plan and you’d recommend using that plan for a commerce site?

    Yes, that’s correct.

    That’s correct.

but it does come with the e-commerce plan and you’d recommend using that plan for a commerce site?

It does come with the ecommerce plan yes. The ecommerce plan comes with a number of other extensions as seen here: https://wordpress.com/support/ecommerce-plan/#payment-gateways and that’s the main difference.

You would ultimately need to take a look at those extensions too see if you would need them.

You may decide that the business plan is more than sufficient.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for the information. The stores that I have designed so far have just used paypal as a gateway and have used basic shipping zones and classes and basic product details such as description image, price and stock levels. I have had one site that has had product variations so I guess I’d need to decide whether I pay the product ad ons plugin price or just go with the e-commerce plan.
I tend to use the divi theme so would add that in anyway.
I am new to doing this alone so I’m wondering if it may be best to just go with the e-commerce plan to get the correct support.

  • Hello there,

I think this really comes to your needs at the moment…

There’s nothing stopping you from upgrading from the Business plan later on if you need to you.

You wouldn’t be paying any extra – just the difference between the two subscriptions.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

I will hopefully be designing websites by myself as a full time job once I get going. I will try my first shopping site on the business plan and see how it goes then. I will plan to charge e-commerce hosting and ssl in line with the e-commerce plan but if I can do it on the business plan I will lower my costs to the customer for the hosting.

Thank you! I have been designing for a few years but through a company’s set up so I am new to this game!
