    Hello,

I´d like to set up my own website to sell some products. Therefore I registered at wordpress.com and bought the premium account.
Now I´d like to install woo commerce on my website, but I´m facing some problems:
    1. the Dashboard doesn´t show the “plugin” button
    2. I´m not able to add new themes via dashboard
    3. I don´t have the FTP data (server, username, password)

I´m looking forward to get some help!
    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus!

    Please see below:

The Dashboard doesn´t show the “plugin” button

You will not be able to install plugins at WordPress.com, only on self-hosted WordPress.org sites. More on the difference here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

I´m not able to add new themes via dashboard

Similar to above, you can only upload themes on self-hosted sites. On WordPress.com, you will need to select from the 300+ themes we have available shown here:

    http://theme.wordpress.com

What kind of theme are you looking for? Happy to help you find one!

I don´t have the FTP data (server, username, password)

Same as above – this only applies to self-hosted sites, not WordPress.com. More here:

In regards to selling products, we do offer a handful of E-commerce options broken down here:

    Hi Jeremey,

thanks a lot for your answer! Your detailed explanations and links are very useful for me!

Obviously I chose the wrong website. :(

I paid for the premium account – but I think it won´t be any problem to cancel it!?!?
Additionally I registered my domain “shirtaesthetics.com”. Whats the best way to transfer this domain to wordpress.org?

    Thanks again!

    Best regards,
    Marcus

    Hey Marcus!

If you’re looking to move to WordPress.org, I think the best option would be for me to cancel the Premium bundle but keep the domain intact for a total refund of €58.00. Then, you can change the name servers on your domain to point to your new web host:

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

Finally, after 60 days, you can transfer the domain to another registrar:

Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

    Would that work?
