WooComm subscription renewals all of a sudden triggering new orders

    We integration WooCommerce with Active Campaign to send new clients an onboarding email. This automation is set up to only trigger with NEW purchases (NOT every time a subscriber’s subscription renews each month).

    This has worked flawlessly for us the past couple years but all of a sudden something just changed in how Woo Commerce is now triggering subscription renewals as NEW PURCHASES.

    This is causing our existing base of recurring clients to now get new client onboarding emails every month that their subscription renews because the (incorrect) new purchase is triggering the automation every month now.

    Can someone please help! Why is this happening? How do we switch Woo Commerce back to not trigger subscription renewals as new orders?
