  I want to use woocommerce on my own website that is hosted elsewhere. Do I have to buy a bussiness plan for wordpress to use woocommerce? I thought both were free.

  • WordPress.com – A fully hosted platform, which offers various plans, including the Business plan that you mentioned.
  • WordPress.org – The self-hosted, open-source software that powers your current website. 

  As for WooCommerce, it is a free, open-source plugin for WordPress websites. If your website is currently hosted elsewhere and uses the self-hosted WordPress.org software, you don’t need to purchase a Business plan on WordPress.com to use WooCommerce. You can simply download and install the WooCommerce plugin on your existing site.
