Hello
I would like to open a webshop for my wordpress site with woocommerce. I have a free plan and when I tried to install woocommerce it told me that I need a self-hosted website. My question is do I need business plan at least to be able to install woocommerce?

WordPress.com offers several different options for selling things online using your site – a full-featured Store, a Simple Payments button, or integration with PayPal for a PayPal button. Additionally, Business plan customers can install third-party plugins, enabling WooCommerce with extensions, as well as other eCommerce-related plugins.
Correct, you do need a Business plan to be able to have WooCommerce on your site. There are a few ways to sell items on your site, so have a read about them in the link above and see what’s right for you.

Can I use woocommerce if I am located outside U.S or Canada as well?
The WooCommerce plugin is open source and anyone can download it and install it on any site running the WordPress software. It is not possible to restrict who can use it an any way.
However, some integrations with third-party providers, or with WordPress.com, might only be available based on your location. For example, you’ll only be able to use the My Site ->Store interface on WordPress.com if you are based in the US or Canada. But you’ll still be able to use the plugin via the WP-Admin dashboard even if you can’t use the My Sites interface.

Is it also possible to have woocommerce if I get a self-hosted wordpress.org site so I will not pay for business plan on wordpress.com?
