    Hi,

    I want to start an ecommerce website on wordpress. I would be buying hosting and the domain separately. Can you advise if I still need to upgrade to a WordPress Business Plan in order to have an ecommerce website?

    Hi there,

    You would only need the WordPress.com Business Plan if you were planning on hosting your site with us on WordPress.com. With us you don’t pay for hosting at all, as we provide that for free – we’re already hosting your site at http://nikky1405106.wordpress.com/, for example. You only pay for the extra features included in the various plans.

    If you plan to build your site using the open source version of the WordPress software at another host, then you won’t be able to buy a plan from us for that site, as our upgrade plans are only available to sites that are hosted on our servers.
