Woocommerce no side menu for shop

I have created a webshop with WooCommerce into my current website. However i want a menu on the left hand side of the products listing the product catergories etc. I cant find a single theme to help me do this. I can create a side bar but it appears above on the website or not at all. On my main shop page i cant find out which template it is unlike my other pages. Help i only want it on my shop pages.
