WOOPRA – ADD A WIDGET PLEASE ;)

    As already commented on several occasions on this forum for the past 12 months, it would be great to add a WOOPRA WIDGET to the WORPRESS.COM platform.

    Now that WOOPRA has come out of beta would be a good time to do so.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I would not hold my breath waiting for woopra to be added here, not with wordpress having their own stats package – even with the home-grown stats lacking in details.

    Also, wordpress never takes any action on a beta release of anything. It is like running in circles blindfolded, trying to hit a moving target.

    I’ve used woopra in testing from time to time on a few blogs I manage, and am not impressed at all. I hate getting calls at 3am saying, help! the blog isn’t loading, and I find out it is woopra that is freezing things up. I disable it and everything is fine. Sadly, the clients are addicted to the slick graphs and splashy colors. I expect they spend most of the time they should be writing posts looking at graphs.

    Instead of Woopra I’d rather see a paid upgrade option for adding Clicky. IMO, the next best thing to Google Analytics.

    I don’t use any of them. I use the AWStats in the cPanel on my self-hosted blog, and the included blog stats here. All I look at is the number of page views per day – and I only do that once per day. Once in a while I look at search terms.

    I have used Woopra on other publishing platforms and I found it very useful and “nice”. It would be a great ad to WP.

    I used woopra on my self hosted wordpress blog but found that it was a resource hog, and that I was distracted from my blogging becaise I found myself staring at live stats all day long. I removed it. Instead I use wordpress.com stats, aw stats (comes with my web hosting package), and sitemeter on my self hosted wordpress blog. On my wordpress.COM blog I use sitemeter as well as wordpress stats and find these are sufficient for my needs.

    But you’ve got the FEEDJIT, timethief! I was just on your site and saw it. What is that if not live stats all day long? And it costs 10 dollar a month too. Is it worth it?

    @paddytheflea
    I have recently added a feedjit to my wordpress.COM free hosted blog at http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com. It is a free live tracking widget that is not a resource hog and does not slow down page loading time. You can get it here http://feedjit.com/joinimg/ Do note that the javascript version cannot be used on wordpress.com blogs. You must use the non-javascript version.

    As I said above I do not use woopra on my self hosted wordpress.ORG install at http://thistimehisspace.com. I removed it because it was a resource hog that slowed down page loading time

    That would be a distraction if you were sitting on your blog main page looking at it all day long. Few people do that. Most bloggers are in their dashboard creating posts and such. I only see my blog main page once a day when I start my browser.

    Gosh, who would do such a thing? We don’t know anyone like that around here, do we?

    So, how do you like it, TT?

    @raincoaster

    “So, how do you like it, TT? “

    I assume you mean the feedjit on onecoolsite. If so, it’s working well and it does not slow down page loading time.

    Thanks. Does it give you information other stats widgets don’t? What makes it different from Sitemeter, etc?
