word cannot register your account

After 3 years of writing articles in Word 2007, and then publishing them automatically on my blog (very handy, especially for financial graphs), yesterday the contact between Word-WordPress was suddenly cut.

The message was: “Word cannot publish this post”, and a second message about not having enough space for the pics (I checked and I have plenty of space). I copy-pasted my articles in the WP editor, but I lacked the MS Word styles and the diagrams. I waited until today, hoping this is a just temporary issue with the WordPress servers. But today, same issues.

I deleted my registered account and tried to register it again with Word. Guess what: it was not possible anymore! I got the famous message “Word cannot register your account”. Blog URL, username and password, everything was correct. Still, Word refuses to re-register my WP account.

Anything unusual happened yesterday? Is MS Word 2007 no longer supported or something?

  • Hi Mihai,

It has to connect to this URL: http://capitalismpepaine.com/xmlrpc.php

You could also try this one: http://capitalismpepaine.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php

If neither of those work, you’d need to contact Microsoft support about this, as this is something that Word offers on its end, and not something we have set up with them. I would guess that they might suggest you update Word.

You might also try using Windows Live Writer:

A lot of our bloggers really love it for writing their posts offline, and additional formatting options.
