Word continuning on next sentence – how do I correct?
-
On my home page, it seems like the margins are too small and some of the words are cut in half over two lines. Is there a way of correcting this so the word, if no room, would simply move onto the next line? I’m using the Intergalactic theme.

Hi,
Some themes automatically hyphenate words to keep lines more or less aligned on the right, and Intergalactic appears to be one of them.
I was able to nearly duplicate the appearance of your front page, using the same text copied and pasted into a page with the Intergalactic theme activated, but only after centering the text, and changing the font. When I cleared the formatting, or left-aligned the text, the hyphenation remained.

Hi there!
The hyphenation in Intergalactic is (as @musicdoc1 mentioned) a design decision on this particular theme. It is possible to counteract that with Custom CSS (part of a Premium Plan or Business Plan)
The following snippet, when added to My Site > Customize > CSS should do the trick:
.entry-content, .entry-summary, .page-content, .comment-content { -webkit-hyphens: none; -ms-hyphens: none; hyphens: none; } -
Hi @musicdoc1 and staff-loquaciousloon,
Thank you very much for your help.
Do you know of any themes in which they do not hyphenate the words? I do not use the website often enough to warrant paying for one the higher-level plans, so would rather change the theme if there is one suitable.

A lot of themes won’t hyphenate that way – if I had to guess, I’d imagine the theme designer chose to hyphenate Intergalactic because it has a narrower content area and no sidebar, which isn’t the case with many themes :)
Hemingway Rewritten and Shoreditch are two that come to mind as personal favorites that don’t hyphenate :)
