Word Count

    I am all for progress, but some things should be left alone. I’m learning to navigate your new features, but there is no word count anywhere. Please return it. I like keeping track of how many words I’m using.

    I assume you’re using the new “block” editor? It appears to be WordPress.com’s new policy that everything is possible but nothing is initially visible to the casual user. It’s not my idea of how things should be done. If you click on the “i” in a circle top left when working on a post you’ll reach “content structure” which has a word count as well as how many paragraphs and blocks are in a particular post.
    (Of course the word count is far more obvious if you continue to use the My Sites classic editor or the wp-admin classic editor).
