Word count
-
Good morning. I see you changed the site a bit. I used to have ‘word count’ at the bottom. Is that just gone now? I am not very good at the tech part so I many have just missed it.
Thank youThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
Word count is still presented when you are writing/editing a post at the wp-admin area of your website – http://imgur.com/fLY9Oz4
Hope that helps :)

Thanks for that dakisha, However, it would be much better to have it on the draft facility. After all wordpress does say at the top of the wp-admin post edit ‘There’s now an easier way to create on WordPress.com’ and directs us to the drafting page – Why to gain word count, do we have to revert to a substandard experience? Can we ask for word count to be restored?
-
I agree with creativebex – I rely on that word count! Why did you make it hard to get to? Please put it back where it was!
-
I personally still use the old post editor, I am kinda attached to it :)
But you are right regarding this. I wasn’t able to find an opened topic at the ideas forum. We should create a new one for this issue.
-
Okay I found it, but I had to leave my post go into the dashboard to find it. I was posting like I always do, after I check the stats (Not many likes) then I press ADD and start writing. It’s in a whole other section. I feel a bit like my mom trying to navigate the new site. I appreciate the accessibility but I have to agree with the others…please put it back to the way it was…
Thank you kindly -

I’m going to have to agree with the majority here. It was handy where it was, now it’s a pain. It needs to go back.

Thank you for the feedback posted here. Word count will be added to the new editor. While that is being worked on, you may use the wp-admin editor as dakisha has already mentioned. I just wanted to let you know that the new editor is evolving to take advantage of some infrastructure and codebase changes, that we wanted the new one out as soon as possible, and that it’s still receiving updates. HTH!

I agree. Am missing word count… I rely on it. Also would prefer for the TITLE to be completely visible across the top. And I feel the composition box is too narrow for writing, better for reading. I wish you had not changed it!!
I post blogs 2-3 times per week and need it to just work. -

The new Beep Beep Boop editor does not have the word count feature yet but it still exists if you use the classic editor as dakisha’s screenshot above illustrates.
You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and for viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
To create posts in the classic editor for you that link ishttp://beachprophhi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts one can hover over any post title and click the Edit link. and proceed with editing.http://beachprophhi.wordpress.com//wp-admin/edit.php
If you have cookies enabled on your browser your preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself.
Also would prefer for the TITLE to be completely visible across the top.
The site title is displayed exactly where theme designer chose to have it display. You can confirm this by checking here:

And I feel the composition box is too narrow for writing, better for reading.
There has been no change to the width of the composition box in the classic editor that I have detected.
