"Word count type. Do not translate!"?
-
Hello,
String in question: https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/fr/default?filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=197668
I’m a puzzled by the context detail, why not translate “words”? Or well, can you confirm that we really shouldn’t be translating that string.
Thanks!

Hi xijina,
You are right, this can be very confusing.
The code now has additional translator’s comments, which are:* translators: If your word count is based on single characters (e.g. East Asian characters),
* enter ‘characters_excluding_spaces’ or ‘characters_including_spaces’. Otherwise, enter ‘words’.
* Do not translate into your own language.(These are not reflected on the translation system yet, but will be soon)
In your case (French), you can enter ‘words’ into the translation field and WordPress.com will correctly count words in your content.
Thanks for your feedback!
