Word limit on Pages
-
I am trying to create a Page with 1,659 words, but when I paste my content the lines are overlapped.
Is there a way around this?
I am using the Radcliffe theme and the site is http://anescapetoholdonto.com/
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

there is not a reasonable word count limit (it should be a big number in the tens of thousands
however
when I paste my content
Pasting from a Word-processing program is an invitation to disaster as much of the invisible formatting code can be carried over
Paste in as plain text – the funny “T” looking icon on I think the second row – that strips out the junk
You can also use an offline editor such as Windows Live Writer if you have a PC – there are also some other editors

Thanks. Unfortunately, I tried pasting as plain text but that seemed to make it worse. What’s strange is that I have posted other entries to different Pages using the same process, but this didn’t happen??
Is there a recommended offline editor for Mac? And, can I then copy and paste my content in there first to convert the content, then copy and paste into my site? I would like to avoid re-typing the content.
Thanks again for the help!

If you are copying and pasting from a word processing document like Microsoft WORD go to http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text Note that the paste from WORD button was been removed from the editor, and using the post as plain text icon removes all formatting and HTML tags. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text That means you have to insert it prior to publication.
Whether or not you are copying and pasting go to > Dashboard > Settings > Writing and enable this setting:
Formatting
__ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”Blog editors and word processors are not the same and do not work the same way. The web standard is one blank line only, so you cannot add more blank lines by pressing return repeatedly like you would do with a typewriter or in a word processing application. If you want to learn how to format and space your posts and pages see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/09/13/wordpress-formatting-and-spacing/P.S. When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.

Hmm. Thanks for the information. I will definitely pursue.
I guess what confuses me is why I was able to do this with other Pages of mine that I copied and pasted text directly. I’m not sure why this Page would be any different.
I will try to use the text editor in the future to avoid such messes. And, again, thanks for the help! I’ll see if it works out.

Okay, so I tried using Desk, the Mac text editor and then I posted and ended up with the same problem. The text overlaps.
I’m definitely new to this, so any help would be great. I’d like to solve this now before running into more issues in the future. Thanks for all the help!
The URL I am concerned about is: http://anescapetoholdonto.com/bodi/
I am using the Radcliffe theme. What is also odd to me is that I have been creating other pages using this same process and my other Pages have come out fine, such as: http://anescapetoholdonto.com/the-lighthouse-2/
Again, any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
