word press and word press???

Hello, i started a wordpress blog and upgraded to premium my url name is http://elfordrawlsdill.org. I noticed when I did this I didn’t have access to things like plugins so I then read about installing wordpress using MAMP. So I did that and I set up a “localhost”. Now I have a local host and the address is funky, it’s (http://localhost:8888/elfordrawlsdill/)
So, now I’m really confused because I thought I would be able to take the content from my original blog and have it uploaded onto this localhost blog that gives access to plugins such as podcasting and such. Now, I’m trying to have only one website and I’m wondering can i transfer my original content to my localhost page with all of the plugins i need? Also, how do i get my new local hosting site to be valid or public? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t have plugins here on WordPress.com, you can only have them on WordPress.org. Your localhost site must be using the WordPress.org blog software.
Here’s info about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Here’s a link to the WordPress.org forum: http://wordpress.org/support/

Your current online site is using a custom domain name and is hosted on WordPress.com. As tom said, we cannot use plugins here, but please explain what it is you want to do and we’ll try to help you figure out if you can do it here.
Creating a localhost WordPress install sets up a website on your computer’s hard drive. Even though you access it through a web browser, the site is not online and accessible only to you. In order to get it online, you would have to get 3rd party hosting and transfer the files to it. However, we cannot help you with this here and support can be found at the site tom mentioned above.

I didn’t have access to things like plugins
That is just shinny thing envy
What was the function you just can’t live without? Many Plugin’s are built into WordPress.com

Elford,
Are you actually asking about exporting your site and importing it locally?

Hey guys, I think I’m going to lose my mind. I created a regular wordpress.com site and then quickly realized I wanted to upgrade to a wordpress.org (the one you use MAMP to host your own site) because I want to podcast and there are no such plugins on the .com. So, I used MAMP to setup my localhosting so that I can have a webstsite that I host and I’m free to put my onw plugins. So, i do that and now my site says: http://localhost:8888/elfordrawlsdill/ and it is not live but I want it live. So, next i purchase hosting with hostgator and now i’m just trying to convert this Nonlive site to a live site….

and in between this all, i already own the domain elfordrawlsdill.org through wordpress and i want that to be transferred to my new hosting site…i’m just trying to get my website up and running and boy is it difficult…i just wish i would have known the .com wordpress didn’t come in with all the things i needed…
