  Hi,

  Am using WordPress to create my webpage. Is it possible to create a site without the need for the wordpress default site. I basically want a complete blank site to add my own pages to.

  Hello @pjbinnz,

  Do you mean, you wanted to create your website from blank? (e.g. make your own custom theme, etc) And you won’t be using any of the themes provided by WordPress? If so, I’m afraid, it’s not possible.

  Just adding on to what Rose previously mentioned,

  Basically, with WordPress.com hosted websites, you will always need to have a theme activated. For complete and full control over how you want to build a site, installing WordPress on your own is the way to go.

  Alternatively, you can try emptying your site, and you’ll be given a blank slate for any given theme that you’re using.

  I have my own hosting site and domain with wordpress installed there, so I guess I am using wordpress on its own rather than .com, but that says I have to have a theme installed as a min, their default theme
