The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  • Hi there,

I’ve checked your account, and it appears that you currently have an Editor role on the website. While this role does allow you to create, edit, publish, and delete any posts, including those written by others, it doesn’t grant permission to edit key website features like the header and footer templates.

To be able to modify these parts of the site, you would need to be an Administrator. Administrators have full access to a site. I recommend reaching out to the current site administrator and asking them to upgrade your user role to Administrator.

Please feel free to get back in touch if you or the current Administrator need further assistance with this. We’re here to help.

My old site administrator has told me transferred ownership to my account so he thought that I should have access. Is there any support offered to where someone can change these roles?

  • In this case we would not be able to take action on behalf of the current owner without their permission. They should be able to log into their account and make this change without any help. They would just need to click on your name in the list here and on the next page switch you from Editor to Administrator: https://wordpress.com/people/edit/sfulacrosse.com/masonh9

Alternatively they can contact us here and inform us they want to make the change, and we will be happy to do it for them: https://wordpress.com/help/

    Thanks!
