Word Press is no longer linked to my website

    Hello, due to the pandemic I put updating my website on the back burner for updating this past year. I tried logging into word press because I noticed over 7,000 comments on my website about viagra etc. and I can’t get into my account or retrieve my password. WordPress does not recognize my email. What can I do to get to the bottom of this?

    Hi there,

    Can you tell us the URL of the site you’re trying to access? Then we can look at what options are available to you.

    All I can tell you at the moment is that the lens2lifephotography account you’ve used to post here has never owned any sites hosted with us on WordPress.com, and hasn’t been accessed at all for the past four years.

    Hello, yes. My website is http://www.lens2lifephotography.com. Until I get this fixed I can’t get into my website to clean things up and get rid of my spam. I use Prophoto to build my website and godaddy is the host for my domain.

    It looks like your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted at GoDaddy.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.

    The WordPress.org forums are a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

    You can also reach out to your host for help with this. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.
