Word press not stable

  I am using WordPress in Firefox because I had problems in other browsers. I save every few sections. I just spent 45 minutes edited my post. I previewed it and when I went back to edit everything new was gone and replaced with long lines of gobblydigook. The new media is in the media library so it’s not my imagination I did all this work. It is very frustrating and I don’t remember everything I wrote. In the future I may have to take screen shots to just have know what I wrote so I can retype it. The last time this happened I had to retype 4 or 5 times before it “took”. Why does this happen?
