  I would like to be able to add advertisements to my website to start monetizing, does wordpress allow you to have ads if you have the free plan or do you have to upgrade to premium or business?

  Hi there @rblech129, it depends on the types of ads you’re using and the code they require.

  If you have your own sponsors and they don’t require JavaScript or iFrames, you should be okay.
