WordAds cancellation

  I want to stop getting ads on my site, and I don’t want to be part of the wordsad program anymore. How do I cancel wordads?

  Site: (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  Hi there!

  There are two different things at play here:

  1. Ads on your free WordPress site.
  2. The WordAds program is where you earn money on your WordPress.com site with advertisements.

  At WordPress.com, we display advertisements on your free blog or site to help pay the bills. This keeps free features free! The ads your viewers will see are determined by their location, browsing histories, and other factors.

  If you want to remove ads from your site, you can purchase one of our paid plans. Having a paid plan will automatically turn off ads on your site. You can review the different plan levels here:

  Purchasing a paid plan also makes you approved to the WordAds program. If you don’t want to use WordAds with your paid plan, you don’t need to enable it. If you join the program, we can remove you from it but this will also prevent you from applying again in the future – so you can just disable the feature by choosing “Pause ads (no revenue)” in the ad dashboard settings.

  Hi, I understand that, but I signed up for the WordsAd program and now I don’t want to be a part of it anymore at all. Is there a way for that to be removed from my account? I don’t want ad revenue and I don’t want a premium plan.

  Hi there,

  I see that you have cancelled and refunded the Premium plan on your own, and you can see confirmation of this here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/

  Please be aware that when you remove the Premium plan from your account it automatically removes you from our WordAds program.

  However, this means you now have a “free” site without any upgrades and because of this you will still see ads on your site (we show them on free sites to help keep the lights on) even though you are not signed up for WordAds anymore.
