WordAds General Question
-
Greetings community;
I hope you can give me some kind of advice. I am thinking about adding WordAds to my website but I am having some doubts. I run a website about Asian Film Festivals (sorry for the promotion) news and I post about news and other stuff. The website is hosted in WordPressdotcom and I paid for the domain name. I wanted to know if this will be pass the WordAds verification for the ads. I don’t want to be banned or fine for trying to make some money out of my hobby/work. Thanks all for the replays in advance and sorry if this was ask before. Have a nice day.

Hello there,
Here is some information directly from the WordPress.com support docs, regarding WordAds and who is eligible:
Who is eligible for WordAds?
Users upgrading to the WordPress.com Premium or Business plans have automatic access to the WordAds program and can set up advertising on their sites immediately.
WordPress.com bloggers, who are using a Free or Personal Plan, have moderate to high traffic and appropriate content also have the option to apply to the WordAds program.
Only sites with a custom or mapped domain can apply. Here are a few useful links with further information about WordAds and WordPress policy regarding its use:

Thanks for the heads up, yeah I read the agreement contact but I don’t know if they will denied it….it’s material from film festivals and it’s family, and office safe. :) Thanks again

Hello,
I earn some money from Wordads. WordPress will pay the money by paypal. In my country, unfortunately, paypal isnt working. Can I withdraw payment by another way.
Thanks alot,

Can you please start a new thread here in the forum and add your question there. How do I start a thread?
Also, you will want to add the modlook tag to the sidebar for staff assistance with this question. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply to my question?
Starting your own thread and adding the modlook tag will ensure that your question does not fall through the cracks and receives a staff answer in a timely manner :)

If I understand well I have to upgrade my account to a Premium Plan and then submit for a WordAds program right?
Question. I had paid for the domain (US$ 26 per year) and I pay now for a Premium Plan (US$ 79 per year)….I will need to pay 105 per year? Because I read that the Premium Plan has already a Custom Domain Name benefit..
Sorry for the silly questions I am really new to this things. If you can help me it would be great. Thanks again

hello @sebasnadilo
No questions are silly! It’s great that you are asking and I am happy to help :)

To answer your question, no you don’t have to upgrade to qualify for WordAds, but if you don’t you need to have moderate to high traffic and appropriate content. Upgrading to Premium will give you automatic access. Here is the link where I found this information: https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/#advertising

You are correct that when you purchase a Premium Plan, one free custom domain is included in the purchase price. Here is a useful link to the support docs explaining this process a little further: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/
I hope this helps to answer your questions. Please don’t hesitate to ask again if you have anymore :) I am happy to help!

hi wordpress,
I have recommended your service to students or friends who want to start a blog. The wordpress ad which carries the “get started” button is therefore a good fit. I love your service and would like to bring in new users for you. I am OK with this ad.
Regarding ads for commercial brands, do I have the liberty of choosing which brand or product category? I don’t wear Nike or Adidas. I am a music lover. Do you have ads for Classical or Jazz music labels? Music stores also work for me.
Thank you for your attention.
Yours truly,
Heidi HONG

The ads that are shown are determined by several factors, including the geographical location and browser history of the person viewing your site. Ads shown will most likely not be relevant to the content on your site, and there is no way to control what types of ads your visitors will see.

Dear Admin; I had purchased the Premium plan and now found a theme that works with WordAds….one small question the ad showing now is one for WordPress only. I try to visit my website ONLY to know if the ads change but its the same, the WordPress ad inviting people to join wordpres…..is this okay? I feel it is not showing ads….could you help me. Thanks again and sorry.

I checked your site, and I’m seeing ads based on websites I recently visited, so the ads on your site do appear to be working correctly.
The ads you see are based on your location and your browser history, among other factors. It can happen that at times advertisers aren’t bidding on ad space on your site, in which case we’ll show some in-house ads just to prevent the ad blocks from appearing blank. But we also pay for ad space in WordAds ourselves, so if you see ads advertising WordPress.com it’s very possible that you’re getting paid for those ads as well.
I hope this clarifies it a bit for you, but let me know if you any more questions about this.

Hello, I have a message that states, “Your theme does not support all WordAds placements, and you can maximize your earnings by switching to a WordAds-optimized theme.”
Does this mean I have to pick a WordAds-optimized theme only?
There’s only 25 WordAds-optimized themes to choose…Does my theme not support WordAds at all?
