Hello , I read on the internet that wordads can be set up on a free WordPress.com blog, but when I’m applying for it, it says that my blog is ineligible and I need to own a domain , can someone please help me ? I’ve read on a couple of websites now that it actually can be set up on the free plan as well but wordads.co keeps asking to own a domain.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @emotionalguyblog
The first requirement to apply for WordAds is to have a custom domain like example.com for your wordpress.com site because WordAds is not supported on default free [example].wordpress.com URLs.So no it is not possible to setup WordAds for free wordpress.com sites. Perhaps you’ve read articles related to WordPress.ORG sites.
More information about this can be found here:
https://wordads.co/faq/There are 3 paid plans on WordPress.com: Personal, Premium and Business. You can upgrade to any of these plans to monetize your site/blog using WordAds and start making money.
More info on making money using WordAds here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/#advertising
Please Note: The amount of money you make via WordAds depends on Ad impressions(not Ad Clicks). Check out this forum topic to see how the earnings are calculated: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-are-the-earnings-in-wordads-calculated?replies=3#post-919750
You do not have direct access to WordAds with Personal plan(like you do with the Business or Premium plans). You have to meet some eligibility criteria if you want to use WordAds with the personal plan. One of the eligibility criteria is a custom domain — which can be registered using this plan.
Hope this helps 🙂

Please read the official FAQ section of WordAds:
https://wordads.co/faq/
You will find all the information regarding this topic there. That article is 2 years old, so do not believe everything it says. Maybe try referring some new article(posted on 2017). But you dont need to refer anything else other than the official FAQ document of WordAds since it has covered almost everything regarding this topic.
