1) You get a custom domain, you apply for WordAds, and you wait for approval. It can be a wait of a couuple of months or more.
2) just the cost of the domain name and mapping.
3) You can expect somewhere between $10-20 per month at that level.

A couple of months?!
Approvals are happening daily now. If your blog has reached the minimum traffic requirement, you can expect a response within 24 hours (unless it’s the weekend or a holiday).

Please don’t pay any head to earnings estimates here. Earnings vary greatly depending on the advertisers, the location and frequency of your viewers, your overall traffic, etc. In other words, just because one person says they make a certain amount of earnings from a certain amount of traffic does not mean that you couldn’t make much more than that.
How long before payment is made for WordAds once the set dollar limit is reached?
Once you pass the minimum $100 payout level, payment is made on the last business day of the month.

And, see, this kind of non-disclosure is why I can’t go with a WordAds funded model for my new media site. I have to know what outcomes will result from what inputs; any business would need to know the same. Too bad, because it basically means that unless the VIP program wants to throw me a bone (so I can handle my own ads) WordPress.com won’t be the host.
-
Not a problem, I understand what you’re saying. The model for WordAds is that we handle all of the negotiations (utilizing the vast size of WordPress.com’s inventory for the best rates) and all of the research around placement and ad types, so that the blogger only has to worry about switching the service on and receiving their payout.
As with many business agreements, there are some things which we cannot post on public forums.
-
Then email me, because I am actively looking for a secure platform for this new site, and I would expect to be up to ten thousand views a day within two months. Where we go from there, depends on the team we can attract, and I can’t attract a team of pros if I don’t pay them.
