Wordads stopped displaying ads

    Hello,

    I have a problem with WordAds advertisements not showing up lately on my blog for some reason.
    At first I thought it was just a one-off day where for some reason I didn’t get even a 0.01$ CPM and that’s why there was no daily revenue on the stats page, but now this has been going on for more than 12 days straight.
    Since then, according to my stats page, there should’ve been more than 185 thousand opportunities to display ads and not one cent did I get for it.
    This is really discouraging because I just got back to updating my blog and if this keeps up I will earn less from WordAds after an order of magnitude increase in view counts from before.

    Can someone help me with this somehow?

    Hi there – It sounds like yo have two questions. I’ve broken them out below.

    Can you give us more detail on where specifically on your site the ads should be displaying, but are not? And with what kind of frequency if you were to guess?

    Since then, according to my stats page, there should’ve been more than 185 thousand opportunities to display ads and not one cent did I get for it.

    Just to clarify, are you saying that your ads were displayed more than 185,000 times between August 3 and August 16 and you do not find any reported earnings here from that?

    It’s important to know that ad revenue is generated by how much advertisers decide to bid on your site each month (this can and will fluctuate). There are many factors that contribute to this amount, including views to your site and the site content itself.

    And earnings are paid out once the outstanding amount exceeds $100, to the attached PayPal account.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

    The stats page I was talking about is this: https://wordpress.com/stats/ads/day/firebirdsnest.org and not the monthly earnings page, although this page also has it below the stats diagram.

    As I understand it this stats page only reports how many ads could’ve been potentially displayed, which means that 185 thousand was that theoretical maximum.
    This is the source of my info for there:

    Ads Served is the number of ads we attempted to display on your site (page impressions x available ad slots).

    Not every ad served will result in a paid impression. This can happen when:

    • A visitor is using an ad blocker, preventing ads from showing.
    • A visitor leaves your site before ads can fully load in their browser.
    • There were no advertisers who bid higher than the minimum price required to display their ad.

    Earnings fluctuate based on real-time bidding from advertisers.

    I understand how all this could mean that actually paying ads are a fraction of what’s the theoretical maximum, but what I find weird is that any and all ads apparently stopped starting from august 3. I had this blog for more than 6 years now and as far as I know there was never such an extended period where I didn’t a single cent for the ads, even when the blog only got less than 200 views a day for a long time.

    I can’t think of anything on my side that would cause every advertisement to cease from august 2 or 3 and on.
    The placement of the ads is determined by the free theme I’m using on the blog, which worked perfectly for months, so I don’t know why it would suddenly change.

    In conclusion, since I couldn’t think of a reason why advertisements would just simply stop an exact week after I started posting again after years, I could only think of asking if it’s a problem on the other side instead.

    Could I get an update on this topic?
    Apparently the problem was identified almost a week ago and nothing happened since then.
    Ads are still not showing up and my efforts to keep putting up new content every weekdays basically goes to waste because of this.
    The ads that could’ve been displayed in the last 3 weeks since it was stopped for review could’ve been more than the last 4 months combined.
    I’m really starting to wonder if I should look into other services instead.
