wordads – when will i be eligible??

so i’ve noticed ads being ran on my blog for quite some time now. the site states that ads will show in that space from time to time to support the cost of my blog but i see these ads literally every time i look at my site now. so when do i start seeing a cut of these ads? i’ve waited to see an email in my inbox inviting me to join the program but still haven’t received anything and it’s been months. i’d love to start running ads and making a little for myself it this is possible. can an admin or anyone give me any insight?

People are not invited to apply for WordAds. Ever. If you want it, and you have a custom domain, you apply. http://wordads.co/

rain coaster, i’ve already applied months ago. i meant now that i’ve applied, i’m awaiting a response/invite/etc but still i’ve heard nothing from wordpress on my application even though they continue to run ads on my site everyday

Well, look in your Settings. If you’ve been accepted, you will see Word Ads there and you can look at your earnings. If you have not, it won’t be there. There is nothing you can do; re-applying does not help.

Looks like I may be looking into a different site to use. It’s pathetic how companies treat their customers these days.

FYI independent hosting of a WP.org blog costs $120 a year and up. Most sites that are created and optimized specifically to maximize ad revenues fail to even cover that cost.
I’m not a fan of WordAds, but unless you’re regularly getting 1000 hits a day, don’t even bother moving. You will lose money.

I wasn’t born yesterday, there are plenty of other free hosting sites out there (that allow ad code as well). And there has been multiple days I’ve had over 1,000 hits.

Our advertising partners do have a minimum traffic threshold. Looking at your page views, it’s not possible to earn meaningful earnings given your traffic levels. A site generally needs tens thousands of page views each month to earn meaningful earnings. As your traffic grows we will continue to apply to get ads activated, there is no need to re-apply.

I want to strongly emphasize sharing your blog with your friends and family. If they like it, they’ll share it with their friends, and so on.
